Dear Friends,
The holiday season is right around the corner and with the onset of holiday season comes many visits from family and friends. Follow these six tips to prepare your home for those holiday visitors.
6 Tips To Prepare Your Home For The Holidays:
- Keep kids in mind: Be sure to have outlet covers in the outlets where the little ones might be exploring. Install temporary gates by the stairs, especially if there isn’t a door to keep shut. Store medicines and cleaners in a locked cabinet.
- Keep elders in mind: Consider keeping all the festivities on one level of the house, as elderly people may have difficulty with stairs. Be sure to have everything they might need in one location for ease of access.
- Inflatable mattresses: Avoid a bedding crisis! How many times have you had an unexpected guest over the holidays and wished you had an extra inflatable mattress or a futon?
- Pets and Air filters: Some of your visitors may have pet allergies and an air filter will protect them from headaches and runny noses.
- Nightlights: Place nightlights in hallways and guestrooms to help guests navigate safely at night. Outdoor lights not only make your guests feel welcome when they arrive, but they also reduce the risk of falls.
- Non Slip Mats: The bath can be a hot spot for injuries. Put non-slip mats in the bathtub and consider installing grab bars in the shower to help prevent falls for visitors of every age.
The holidays are a perfect chance to rekindle relationships with our loved ones. We would like to wish you a relaxing and reflective time with your friends and family.
Sincerely,
