The Difference Between A Santa Barbara Real Estate Expert and Real Estate Agent

As the ocean-front town of Santa Barbara, California is a highly desirable place for many Americans to live, real estate agents and Santa Barbara real estate experts are in high demand. What many people don’t realize, however, is that there is actually a difference between a real estate agent and a real estate expert – but because some Santa Barbara real estate agents are also Santa Barbara real estate experts and vice versa, and this is the thing that confuses most people. There are a few telltale signs, though – a few things that you can look out for in order to tell the difference and get the service that you actually need.

#1 First of all, real estate agents are always going to try and sell you something. This isn’t always the case with real estate experts. While they may be able to close a deal once you do find that dream home, an expert is always going to try and help you find exactly what you are looking for.

#2 Another great way to tell if you are doing business with a Santa Barbara real estate expert as opposed to a real estate agent is by taking a look at their office or place of employment. Most companies that specialize in selling real estate will usually be operating out of large businesses, perhaps with many different offices or cubicles inside. This is because they deal with many customers on a daily basis, and they have many different agents that might be working on any given day. Real estate experts, however, do not see as many customers in one day, and many can do the majority of their work by phone or over the internet. Because of this, a lot of real estate agents may have nothing more than a tiny, 1-room office. Indeed some may even be working out of their own home.

#3 Real estate experts provide you with valuable tips regarding real estate trends. Agents, however, will not inform you of current trends in the real estate market, and sometimes they may even try to hide such information if it best suits them. Experts will also be able to give you advice on what they think the future has in store for real estate – because they truly do have your own personal needs in mind. Again, however, real estate agents, whose sole purpose is to make a quick sale, will not do this.
