What to Do Now!

Is it getting quieter in the home because the kids are off to college? This time of year more floor plan redesigns are completed than in any other season. The Kid's room is now the target for parents who want to add functionality to the possibly unused space. (First, before you get motivated, where will the children sleep if they come home for long weekends?)

A recent survey released by homebuilder, KB HOME, found that 45 percent of adults would opt to convert their child's bedroom into a home office or study, once their child leaves home.  17% of respondents would convert the child's room into a craft or hobby room, 11% would opt for a home gym (HOW TO) and 10% would convert the space into a home theater or media room.(HOW TO)

There are a lot of considerations to evaluate if you are converting the space to an office. Just some of the issues that pop up are electrical needs, technology design for net access, and there are even insurance and tax implications.
